Dr. Najla Al Siri

Elastography

Dr. Najla Alsiri is a pioneering figure in the field of musculoskeletal and quantitative research practice, being one of the first individuals to introduce sonoelastography technology into this domain. Originally designed for oncology, this innovative system assesses the elasticity of musculoskeletal structures, offering significant value for clinical examinations, diagnoses, and management, as well as serving research purposes. Dr. Alsiri’s impactful journey began with a series of publications from 2016 to the present in Q1 journals, starting with the assessment of the system’s feasibility, followed by establishing its reliability and smallest detectable change.

The research then progressed to differentiate between healthy tissues and those affected by connective tissue disorders.

Through years of dedicated research, Dr. Alsiri has not only introduced this groundbreaking technology but has also established a robust collaboration involving Kuwait University, Alrazi Hospital Kuwait, Cardiff University UK, Birmingham University UK, and Aberdeen, with a specific focus on the spine. The introduction of sonoelastography in orthopedic and musculoskeletal practice not only enhances clinical applications but also opens substantial avenues for knowledge, research, and innovation. Dr. Alsiri’s work underscores the potential of technological advancements in transforming the landscape of medical diagnosis and treatment, especially in the context of musculoskeletal health.
